A writer, radio documentary producer and television art and culture broadcaster, Yorgos Archimandritis holds a PhD in Comparative Literature at the Sorbonne University<\/a>, specializing in the field of mythocritics, the study of myths in the arts and letters.<\/p>

He was appointed Cultural Ambassador for the French Presidency in the European Union in 2008. He was awarded Knight of Arts and Letters (2010) and Officer of Arts and Letters (2019) by the French Republic for his contribution to the field of Culture in France and the world. In 2020, he was appointed Cultural Ambassador of the Hellenic Foundation for Culture in Paris. In January 2023, he joined the Leadership Council of the Democracy and Culture Foundation.<\/p>

He is the author of Danielle Mitterrand – Word for Word<\/i> (Le Cherche Midi Editions, Paris). His book Mikis Theodorakis \u2013 My Life<\/i>, on Greece\u2019s most famous composer, and Theo Angelopoulos \u2013 With a Bare Voice<\/i>, his conversation book with Palm d\u2019Or awarded film director Theo Angelopoulos, are published by Actes Sud Editions in France and Patakis Publishers in Greece. His books Melina – A Star in America<\/i> (co-authored with Spyros Arsenis), on the international career of famous Greek actress Melina Mercouri, Yannis Behrakis – With the Eyes of the Soul<\/i>, a conversation book with Pulitzer Prize awarded photojournalist Yannis Behrakis, and Titos Patrikios – An \u0395dge of Truth to Lift<\/i>, a conversation book with Titos Patrikios, the most prominent Greek poet of our times, are published in Greece by Patakis Publishers. He is the official translator of Yasmina Reza\u2019s plays in Greek, published by Hestia Publishers (God of Carnage, \u201cArt\u201d, Bella Figura, Conversations After a Burial<\/i>).<\/p>

His literary TV show Book Club<\/i> is a production of the national Greek TV (ERT). His cultural radio documentaries are broadcasted by the national French radio (France Culture), as well by the national Greek and Suisse radio (RTS).\u00a0His interviews with major cultural figures have been published in the most prestigious French and Greek newspapers and magazines.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
